MoezArt Productions is filled to the brim with incredible people, on stage and off. In our Staff Spotlight, we feature the amazing human beings who make MoezArt successful behind the scenes…scenery…? I’ve asked them some basic questions so YOU get to know them. Enjoy getting acquainted with our staff!
Our first Staff Spotlight features Debra Lawrence, CEO of MoezArt Productions! Aside from running the entire shebang, she is a MoezArt mom, an occasional director, and an occasional stage manger.

Debra, how has MoezArt impacted your life?
First, MoezArt provided a place for my talented children to learn more about performing. Then I realized it was providing an amazing group of friends for my kids. Then I realized it was more than just a group of friends – it was an entire community of support for my kids. Then, I realized it wasn’t just for my kids – it was a community for my entire family. What an amazing community of believers who love the arts, love us, and above all – love the Lord. Our lives are so much richer because of the life-long friends we have made here and because we have a God-honoring place to use our God-given talents.
What is your favorite and least favorite part of theatre? Why?
My favorite part of theater is stage managing! My lease favorite part is actually being on stage. I’m so glad there are people who love that part!
What’s one quirky fact about you?
I asked one of my kids and they said “You can do machine gun kisses”. That means I can rapid fire kisses on their cheeks. Does that count?

What is your life verse, or a verse you would want to share with readers, and why did you choose that verse?
Ephesians 3:16-19 — I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
This is my prayer for our MoezArt participants, families, volunteers, staff – everyone involved with MoezArt. I pray that out of God’s glorious riches he strengthens us, that we are rooted and established in love, and that we learn to tell/show/present that love to our community. At MoezArt we focus on doing that through the arts, but I pray we are actually helping people grasp how wide, long, high, and deep Christ’s love is in every aspect of our lives.
